Derived from the transparent fluid that is produced by a bee from its hexagonal booths, pure beeswax is safe and compatible with the human skin. It adds to the skin's moisture by boosting the natural oil supply. It also has antimicrobial properties and is known to be helpful with eczema and other skin irritations. 

Shea Butter is an important part of this base. For thousands of years, humans have applied and consumed shea butter for its skin-protecting properties. It is very rich in Omega-6 linoleic and Omega-9 oleic Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs), which comprise over 50% of shea butter by weight. It also contains large, naturally-occurring concentrations of retinol, which is clinically shown to reduce wrinkles, as well as various highly beneficial naturally-occurring UV absorbers, antioxidants and Omega-3 EFAs. It also has a natural SPF of up to 8. 

Shea butter is reported to be a natural moisturizer and emollient, as well as a competent cell regenerator.
